Pip
This is Pip. He is our special needs kitten.
His legs are not working right.
When we first got him,
he would move like a sea turtle on the sand,
using his limbs like flippers.
We’ve been working with him,
and now he can ‘stand’ on his front legs,
and is trying really hard to get his back legs working.
He is a little tuffy though and can move pretty fast
and tussle with the big cats,
Go Pip, Go!
I am so thankful we have this little wonder.
He is brave, strong and determined, and such a joy!

Oh my word, he does scuttle like a baby sea turtle!
Here’s hoping ongoing therapy will have Pip right as rain soon, but if not, he’s one heckuva cutie!

Thank you so much for the referral to the kitten lady! I should have known to go to her for advice, but now we have ‘splints’ for little Pip and things are looking good!

What a sweetie ! Purrayers and Power of the Paw to him and his caregivers ! Have you tried the kind of “splints” they sometimes use with “swimmer” puppies ?
Cat Mom
Thanks for mentioning that, we did some research and now have splints on little Pip and he is improving!

He is amazing.
We have had a couple of special needs kittens. Uno comes to mind, the only surviving kitten of a litter from a very inbred feral colony (that was TNR’ed later that summer).
We put him with a litter half his size, and they helped him learn to walk better, and even encouraged him to learn to jump. He kept trying to keep up with them, and learned eventually. He found a fabulous home.
