Junk Mail
Pip: Looks like the mailman arrived.
Cat Mom: Mostly junk mail, except for these little cards
from an organization raising awareness on humane
treatment of food animals. I like learning that pigs love
belly rubs and cows have best friends,
and chickens can count to ten.
Pip: Tell me we’ll still get chicken for dinner, right?
RIGHT?
MOM?!
I’m thankful I know more about how these animals are treated, and yes you’ll get chicken tonight – we’ll just be more careful where we buy it.

Good Morning little Pip … you are so right about being careful about what we buy and where we buy, too! We always want to be sure that we are not causing harm in any way … by our needs and our actions. You are growing into one smart and caring kitty!

I would love to get those cards! We are very careful where we buy Lucy’s food. All animals deserve being loved and cared for.

Our food can be humanely cared for and slaughtered, but if we don’t know, then we don’t worry about it.
Knowledge is power, and where we spend our money is what will drive the markets.

Pip is a cutie pie.
I’m also thankful I get lots of good foods.

I think it is indeed important to advocate for humane treatment of all animals, and to do the best we can to find out about industry practices and make our purchases accordingly.
Pip is just so fantastically cute!

It is important that our farm animals are treated humanely and they say they are better to eat and healthier when happy. Not sure but they should be happy no matter

So many animals are mistreated, it is so sad.
messymimi
This is one of the reasons, besides my health, that i went vegan years ago. While i know it’s not for everyone, and not possible for cats (or other carnivore obligates) to do that, i can, and i can make sure where my animal foods are coming from.

There’s certainly a great deal to find out about this issue. I really like all of the points you’ve made.
