Nabbed ’em
I don’t know if you all remember that Elf was rejected by a feral mom who had 5 kits … well, we didn’t forget!
We’ve been feeding and keeping an eye on Elf momma and sibs.
We borrowed a fellow feral caretaker’s remote control drop trap and put out some goodies and stood by the window and waited …
And soon enough, we had a taker!
Elf: Hold on Mom, that cat isn’t related to me!
Cat Mom: You’re right, that’s the neighbors cat … sigh.
Well, after hours and hours, we nabbed Momma and 3 of the 4 remaining kittens.
It took us another day to nab that last one, we named him Harry Houdini!
Cat Mom: They are a little shy right now, so I could only get pics of these two.
Aren’t they darling?
They are smaller than Elf, but they have been living outside so that is expected
I’m calling to make spay/neuter and vaccination appointments today at our neighborhood low-cost clinic … sigh.
I really dislike spay/neuter day, but it must be done – these kits are 6 months old and it is high time for that – Momma Cat too.
We’ve decided to call them Dusty (not completely black, hence the name), Lucky, Neddie and Momma Lilly and of course, little Harry – what do you think? We basically are using names from The Three Amigos and Lilly from Blazing Saddles.
Have a terrific weekend, and if I haven’t wished it already, here’s wishing you all a Happy New Year!

Great job on the trapping! Hey, when the Dad was doing lots of trapping out back our neighbor cat got caught 4 times. The Dad swore she just wanted the tuna and she knew she could eat and the Dad would let her out.

Eastside Cats
What wonderful news! Well, not for the neighbor’s cat…
We cannot adopt our way out of this; we must shout to the world, “Spay and Neuter!!!!”
Will this wee family then live outside, or are you planning to find homes?
Cat Mom
The kittens will remain inside, we have to see how Momma cat adjusts to being inside until her spaying. We will try to find homes for them, but unfortunately we do not live in a mecca for responsible pet ownership, so it will be a challenge.

You have such a huge heart!!! Is everyone staying with you?
Cat Mom
For now they are staying with us, we need to get them fixed, vaccinated and domesticated before looking for homes. Unfortunately, we do not live in a mecca for responsible pet ownership, so it will be a challenge to find the right home.
Thanks!

They are so handsome. Are you keeping them or finding them homes which prolly would be more practical.
Cat Mom
We’ll try to find homes, but it is difficult so time will tell.
Thanks,
