Freya
This is one of our oldest kitties, her name is Freya.
Freya was our neighbor’s cat originally.
They used to leave their garage door open a smidge for her to seek shelter
and fed her in the garage … sometimes.
Decades ago they moved, closed the garage door
and left her behind.
She sat all day for 2 days crying in front of that closed garage door.
In the evenings she would come to our backyard for food and water.
On the third day it was obvious they were not coming back for her,
so we brought her inside with us where she has been ever since.
Freya is a sweet kitty, she helps her Mom do the kitty dishes every night.
We’re happy she is with us and love her to the moon and back.

Thank you. For all the rescues and all the kindness to the innocent and blameless. Thank you from the heart.

While we silently rain curses down upon Freya’s previous humans, we instead turn that energy into love and purrs for her and her true furrever family.
Freya is beautiful!

I was going to write “poor Freya,” but it sounds like she ended up in a much better home with you.

To us, the saddest part of Freya’s story was that she sat in front of the garage door for two days crying for the people who hadn’t shown her that much love in the first place. Even then, she also knew where to go to get food and water. Bless you (and all the other rescuers there are) !

That’s just heartbreaking — and maddening. How could they just leave poor Freya like that? You know what? They did not deserve her, and she deserved the loving, safe, and happy home she has there with you now. XO
