Lazy Mom
Cupcake: We upstairs cats have something to say;
the reason why you don’t see many pics of us is because Mom is lazy.
Cat Mom: Hey! I go up and down those stairs to feed you,
play with you,
refill litter boxes and schlep up clean laundry.
So I forget my camera when I go up there, I am NOT lazy!
Trooper: Seriously, when was the last time you posted my gorgeous self?
A year ago, maybe more?
Cat Mom: It couldn’t have been that long ago, could it?
Gemma: Mom is not lazy.
Cat Mom: Thanks sweetie.
Gemma: She just likes the kittens more than she likes us.
Brave: Well, the downstairs kittens anyway.
Cat Mom: Wow, the Mom Guilt is getting heavy!
But point taken, I need to spend more time with my camera upstairs.

One Riot, One Ranger
‘One Riot, One Ranger’ is an old Texas legend
that goes something like this:
The Mayor of Dallas had an issue with a riot
and called on the Governor to send out the Texas Rangers.
The Gov sent one.
But that one Ranger stopped the riot all by his lonesome.
When we visited the Texas Ranger Museum years ago,
we saw a photo of a current Ranger,
his name was Clete Buckaloo.
Something about that rugged, square-jawed face
just screamed Texas Ranger, and that name was purrfect!
We never forgot about Ranger Buckaloo.
Much later he became Captain of the Texas Rangers
and we read about him in Texas Monthly.
We were trying to come up with a name for this little runt of the litter of fosters
when I came across that old cup
and knew exactly the name to give our brave little kit.
So meet little Cletus Buckaloo.
He is a messy eater and has big boots to fill.
But we know he’ll do Captain Buckaloo proud.
