On one of my work conference calls,

the conversation turned to cats – as it often does with me!

A new work friend mentioned that he had a cat named

    Tom the Aristocrat Farm Cat.

I was intrigued and asked for photos – he sent me these:

Wow! I expected the usual photos,

not these amazing works of art!

I fell in love with Tom immediately!

So, I asked if I could post these photos in a Guest Post

and this is what I received back:

    Tori,

I looked at your blog, so I thought I would give a little background information on Tom…

A neighbor got him from a country family thinking they he would make a good house cat. Since he had lived his whole life out in the wild, only being fed and petted by the family that lived in the country, when they tried to make him a house cat, it did not go good. They abandoned him outside and somehow we ended up adopting him. The first thing we did was take him to the vet to get him checked out. They said he was pretty old and had a fang missing and it would be good for him to live his golden years with us. He was very slow to trust. It took years and patience on our part, but now he will come inside the house willingly to spend the night. He can still be skittish, but he has been trusting us more and more, even letting us pick him up. A couple weeks ago, he crawled up on my lap for the first time and laid down.

I include a close-up pic of Tom, another pic with our other rescue cat “Kitty” both taking a rest after the big move from DFW to Houston and the last one of Tom in his natural habitat of being outside watching over things.

Troy and his family are true Superheroes!

Thank you Troy for sharing Tom, Kitty

and that amazing rescue story with

    everyone on The Cat Blogosphere.
