The two utes
Mazzie and his bro Cowboy are growing up.
We refer to them as ‘The two utes’.
Mazzie has slowed down a little,
no longer the blindingly fast Maserati that he is named for,
thank goodness!
They both have had a bout of the sniffles,
but with meds that has finally cleared up.
Cowboy has what we call ‘the wobblies’, just like our Emmett,
but he gets around just fine.
‘The Wobblies’ is cerebellar hypoplasia.
The symptoms are jerky or uncoordinated walking,
swaying from side to side when trying to walk,
a goose-stepping gait called hypermetria.
Although cats with cerebellar hypoplasia require a little extra care,
they are likely to live full lives.
In fact, they often live the same length of time as cats that are not affected.
Our Emmett has ‘The Wobblies’ and is 8 years old, healthy as a horse.
So we’re not too worried about our Cowboy.
He is a loving little boy and a snuggle-monster.
He is also my little baloney sandwich, silly kid!

Giant Panda
I love my Giant Panda Bear.
I’ve tried to get a photo with Panda next to a normal size cat,
but the perspective is never right.
You can kinda see in this one that Panda takes up most of the couch,
wheareas Puddin takes up very little –
but it’s hard to get the real enormity of our giant Panda Bear.
He is a beautiful cat.
And a big ole lovey/nappy kid.
